President Prabowo Subianto has been advocating for the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) since 2006, long before his election victory in 2024. His dedication to providing free nutritious meals for Indonesian children was highlighted by his younger brother, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, at an event in South Jakarta on 7 January. Prabowo’s commitment to this cause was evident even during the 2014 election campaign, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Indonesian children have access to adequate nutrition and education for a prosperous future. As the 8th President of Indonesia since October 2024, Prabowo officially launched the MBG programme on 6th January 2025, covering all 31 provinces of the country. This initiative is a testament to Prabowo’s belief in providing essential nutrition for the next generation of Indonesians, contributing to the nation’s development and global reputation.
