Dr. H. Lukman Abunawas recently appointed as the Chairman of the Central Board of Tolaki Customary Institution (LAT) for the 2025-2030 period has been applauded by Rasfiuddin Sabaruddin, the General Chair of the Central Management of Hidayatullah Youth. Rasfiuddin emphasized the importance of this moment in strengthening the foundation of local wisdom that significantly impacts the development of Southeast Sulawesi. He stated that this historical moment not only reinforces the crucial role of local wisdom in regional development but also strategically encourages the younger generation to preserve and develop cultural heritage further.
As a national youth organization leader, Rasfiuddin expressed readiness in supporting any youth empowerment programs initiated by LAT’s Central Board. He highlighted the significance of nurturing young generations with strong character, high spirituality, and adaptive leadership capacity in response to current dynamics. In addition, he views this appointment as an excellent opportunity to solidify ethnic unity in Southeast Sulawesi through collaborative approaches, considering diversity among ethnic groups as a social asset that needs to be maintained.
Furthermore, Rasfiuddin called upon the community, especially the youth, to uphold unity through intercultural dialogues, preservation of regional languages, and cross-community collaboration. He sees Abu Nawas’s leadership as an inspiration for the younger generation in building an inclusive and civilized future for the region. Finally, he expressed hope that Abu Nawas’s leadership will bring benefits to all ethnic groups and young people in Southeast Sulawesi, emphasizing unity in diversity as the key to collective progress.
