1.2 kilograms of crystal meth worth Rp1.6 billion were confiscated by the Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) of the Jambi Regional Police, which was uncovered in a week since the beginning of February 2024.
Deputy Director of Ditresnarkoba of the Jambi Regional Police, AKBP Andi M Ichsan, stated in Jambi on Tuesday (2/13) that the 1.2 kilograms of crystal meth were seized from three suspects.

Aside from the crystal meth, the police also seized 520 tablets containing methamphetamine.
Andi explained that the case was initiated from two police reports that came in early February 2024.
All the crystal meth and methamphetamine tablets were confiscated by officers from three suspects identified as RS, HR, and DM.
Andi mentioned that if one gram of crystal meth could be used by five people, then the number of lives saved would be 6,206. Furthermore, if one tablet could be used by one person, then the number of lives saved would be 520.
“Therefore, the total number of lives saved is 6,726,” he added.
Moreover, if one gram of crystal meth has an economic value of Rp1.3 million, then the total economic value of the crystal meth evidence is Rp1.61 billion. Similarly, if one tablet has an economic value of Rp250,000, then the total economic value of the evidence is Rp130 million.
For their actions, the suspects are charged under Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 112 paragraph (2), and/or Article 111 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the possibility of the death penalty or life imprisonment. (il/RMN)
