President Prabowo Subianto warmly received President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra of Peru at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, in a grand ceremony attended by approximately 3,000 students from various schools in the capital city. The Peruvian President’s motorcade, accompanied by motorcycle troops and mounted guards, made its way from the National Monument to the palace gates. Upon arrival, President Boluarte was personally greeted by President Prabowo, and both leaders stood on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of both countries were played. They then inspected the honor guard and paid respects to their national flags before introducing members of their official delegations. The bilateral meeting between Indonesia and Peru aimed to strengthen relations between the two countries, both of which are members of APEC. This meeting was a reciprocal gesture following President Prabowo’s visit to Peru last year, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic exchanges between Indonesia and Peru.
